Ros-b

Motion Designer

Philippe Gariépy aka ROS-B is a motion designer with some serious groove! His keyframes are super tight, his motion is ever so smooth and his design skills are razor sharp. For this reason he’s gone on to create visual experiences for C2 Montréal and Six Invitational (Ubisoft’s eSports event).

fvckrender
Fvckrender

3D Artist

Frédéric Duquette aka FVCKRENDER is a 3D artist pushing his craft to its limits –and in the process testing his own– under the “Everyday” philosophy. Every day he creates and publishes his artwork. Every. Day. He is now at over 1000 days of this practice and in the process he’s evolved from balancing his everyday’s with a 40+ hour work week in a restaurant to a 40+ hour work week as a freelance artist. After not being accepted to animation school because his work “wasn’t good enough” FVCKRENDER’s story is truly inspiring. His visuals now fill the backdrops of mega musical acts like Flying Lotus and appear in mega reviews like Rolling Stone Mag and Hypebeast. You can’t help but feel a mad rush of excitement for his success and a motivational ass kicking to shift your own creative practice into high gear!

thomasbmartin
Thomas B. Martin

Illustrator

Thomas B. Martin is one of those naturally super talented illustrators whose skills you wish you had a fraction of. Then you realize just how kind, smart and witty he is that you wonder how you ever got any creative work done without him… well, get in line folks!

pusher
Pusher

Design Studio

Pusher is a multidisciplinary design studio bringing visual identities to life through motion and other creative means. Spearheaded by Sebastien Camden and Samuel Charlebois, Pusher brings an enchanting, playful and sensitive approach to their projects. It’s no wonder they’ve gone on to create visual identities for such heavyweights as Rodeo Productions and RAD (Radio Canada’s Journalism Laboratory).

mayleekeo
Maylee Keo

Illustrator, Animator

Maylee Keo is a ball of creative energy packing so much love and affection into each one of her illustrations. She loves to mix her mediums as much as her brushes, as one day you’ll catch her sketching in her notepad, the other animating and motion designing, the next she’s painting murals in far away lands, and other times she’s straight up painting on humans with the Skinjackin collective… either way, there’s never a dull moment with Maylee!

mrsaboteur-2
Mr Saboteur

3D Artist

Ganesh Baron Aloir aka MR SABOTEUR is a digital artist experimenting with computer generated imagery, heavily influenced by the intersection of lucid dreaming and nightmares. His eye-popping visuals are attributed to a special blend of self-made analog systems mixed with 3D animations processed through various softwares. What that actually translates into is a highly skilled artist with an exceptional sense of design, composition and colour palette. This is an artist who is unafraid to experiment and venture into the unknown, as in MR SABOTEUR’s case, the journey defines the destination!

brunocolpron
Bruno Colpron

360° Filmmaker

Bruno Colpron has developed a habit of thinking in 360°. Having cut his teeth as a technician at the Société des Arts Technologiques (SAT), Bruno went on to collaborate with the Montréal Planetarium on several immersive film projects, which lead him to assume the role of Director of Photography on the National Film Board’s 360° film, Kyma. He’ll run us through his look dev process for making the invisible visible by experimenting with a wide range of Chladni patterns!

misscloudy
Miss Cloudy

Paper Artist

Pauline Loctin aka MISS CLOUDY is a genuine paper artist. From creating gigantic sculptures, to props, to intricate sets and installations, Pauline can pretty much make anything out of paper. In fact, she’s made a name for herself as the go-to artist for this specialty. She has worked with agencies like Sid Lee and Rodeo Productions, for clients like EnRoute magazine and on various films and public installations.

naimaphillips
Naïma Kristel Phillips

Writer

Naïma Kristel Phillips is a bi-lingual writer in English and French, with a background in theatre. In fact she holds an MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University. She’s the director and co-producer of High-Z, a project bringing together artists and scientists in the pursuit of better understanding the cosmos… and she’s here to tell us all about it!

tropivisual
Tropivisual

Animation, Design Duo

Tropivisual is Daniel Whoares and Diana Mora Duarte, a creative duo from Mexico city. They caught up with us while passing through Montréal on their journey around the world! They’ve truly embraced the wanderlust philosophy in an effort to seek out the unknown, meet new people and collaborate with fellow creates who are waaay outside of their go-to networks and comfort zones. With backgrounds in motion and design they’re here to bring us into their world and we’re honoured to invite them into ours.

Our annual open mic and season finale have arrived! This month, we’ve cooked up an inspiring line-up of 10 emerging artists you should know about. Also on the menu, an unforgettable performance by the Moonshine crew mixed with our curated line-up of VJs to set the mood!
